The "Rule of One" Framework for a Low-price Ebook Business

A specific positioning discipline for a low-price ($7-27) ebook: solve exactly one problem, write it for exactly one specific person (not a broad audience), sell it with exactly one landing/sales page, and promote it through exactly one traffic channel mastered deeply rather than spread across several, using AI tools to handle niche research, title generation, writing, PDF design, and the sales page itself.

The presenter's personal cautionary example is specific and concrete: his first ebook, a broad "10-step hitting system" aimed at baseball players of all ages, took nearly two years to make its first sale, while his own retrospective analysis concludes that narrowing it to something like "How to Hit a Curveball for 8-12 Year Olds" would have sold far better by speaking to one clear, specific buyer. A concrete conversion benchmark is given: at a $27 price point with a typical 10% conversion rate, 100 visitors a day translates to roughly $270 a day, giving a simple way to estimate the traffic needed to hit a given income target.

Someone willing to narrow their topic and audience much more specifically than feels natural at first, and to commit to one traffic channel long enough to master it rather than spreading effort across several platforms at once.

Worth knowing directly: the presenter is the founder and CEO of SamCart, and this video is a direct demonstration of, and funnel toward, SamCart's own tools (Typeset for PDF design, SamCart for the landing page), a clear and undisguised financial interest in those specific recommendations. That said, the underlying "Rule of One" positioning framework and the personal case study behind it predate SamCart's founding and don't require those specific tools to apply; the presenter's original $1.2 million in ebook sales, which he says funded SamCart's creation, is a personal claim without independent verification.
